Quality History
In April 1994, Quest Technologies, Inc. received third party registration of its quality system to ISO 9001:1987 by NQA-USA. While registration to ISO 9001 is accepted as a part of doing business today in 2007, in 1994 when Quest achieved registration the application of the standard and the registration of the quality management system were still quite new, particularly in the United States. At the time there were fewer than 100 companies registered within the United States setting Quest apart not only as an industry leader but also as a progressive company of vision.
Since Quest’s quality management system registration in 1987, ISO 9001 has been revised and reissued twice to date, once in 1994 and then again in late 2000. As these revisions occur and are released, Quest has and will continue to revise its quality system to ensure compliance with the new requirements. We do this not only because our customers expect us to maintain our registration but also because of the benefits we gain for our customers and our company.

Laboratory Accreditation
In the mid 1990’s Quest management became aware of increasing customer interest in using accredited laboratories for calibration of their instruments. This interest was fueled by the release of the QS 9000 quality management system standard for the automotive industry as well as the increasing acceptance and application of other international management system standards. To better serve its customers, Quest decided to pursue accreditation of its calibration and service laboratory in the field of calibration to ISO/IEC Guide 25 and ANSI/NCSL Z540. ISO Guide 25 was the precursor of ISO/IEC 17025 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories and Z540 replaced the MIL-STD-45662A that was predominantly used in the United States. A2LA, the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation, was chosen as the accrediting body.
Quest achieved laboratory accreditation in December 1999 to ISO/IEC Guide 25 and ANSI/NCSL Z540. When ISO/IEC 17025 was released as a replacement for Guide 25, Quest transitioned its laboratory management system and accreditation to the new standard.
